About The From My Garden”Collection
This work started with a practical reason: my kids were home for the summer and, therefore, I needed to paint from home. But as I painted in my garden, my purpose for creating became about capturing the fleeting moments of summer. I sat outside and painted each painting en plein air, or in the open air, and captured spots of my garden as I saw them - leaves blowing this way and that, petals folding in the wind, curling cucumber vines, and cherry tomatoes with little crowns. These works remind me of the sweetest parts of summer. They remind me to slow down, to look closely at what’s growing in my own front yard, and to remember there is always wonder to be found.
